Middle schools currently do not offer dance, but a multi-purpose space that is large enough to encourage movement may be used if future programming is created. High school students can take dance and such spaces shall include mirror walls for reflection and group synchronization, barre bars for ballet and stretching, increased audio for music amplification, and controlled lighting. Where possible, provide flooring specifically designed for dance to reduce impact injuries and avoid slipping. High volume spaces are best for greatest flexibility of dancing styles.
